Home of Woods vs. Nicklaus – Golf's Greatest Rivalry

Chamblee hits three homers in three swings!

July 8th, 2012 · No Comments

As an independent thinker I take exception with much of what the Golf Channel’s outspoken Brandel Chamblee has to say.

However, today he hit the ball out of the park – three times in three swings. While seated next to Glen Nager, President of the USGA, Chamblee asked him if the USGA would be considering certain changes.

  • The first was eliminating the anchored putter.
  • The second was to end the practice of having a caddy line up a player (sorry, Paula).
  • Finally, Chamblee said that the line on the ball, which is used to line up putts, has got to go.

All, he claims, slow down the game. And worse yet, they “don’t look right.”

To this I say Chamblee for dictator of golf. His old school ideas are just what the game needs to stem the tide that threatens to ruin the integrity of our great sport.
